How matching works and how to read a result.
1. How matching works
AI Bots Checker compares an IPv4 or IPv6 address with ranges published by bot operators. The directory covers 50 bots and services from 17 operators, including AI crawlers, search engines, and services that fetch pages on a user's behalf.
The operator directory links to the original documentation so you can check the scope of each service.
2. What a result means
A match means the address falls within a published range. It does not identify the specific bot that sent a request or prove the request is safe. Multiple bots often share the same range, and some services are privacy proxies used by people.
No match means the address is not in our data. It does not prove the visitor is human or malicious. Operators update their ranges over time, and some bots publish no addresses at all.
Check the connecting IP from your server or trusted proxy logs. User-Agent headers and forwarded headers like X-Forwarded-For can be spoofed.
3. Privacy
We do not log or save submitted IP addresses.
